The Chromobots were originally produced as a short back-up strip in Marvel UKs The Transformers. Whilst certain moves to produce a new series have been made, it was interesting to discover back in 2009/2010 of how a major store in the States had borrowed both name and design for a toy line.
I LOVED reading the Chromobots as a kid! I wish this lasted longer in the comic instead of Matt & the Cat! No one I know has heard of this. But this along with Soundwaves was my favourite part of the comic (aside from the main feature of course) I think GrimGrams was cool, but I liked Soundwave's snarky Decepticon take to his answers. Dread Tidings was ok, but Dreadwind wasn't a character I loved as much as Soundwave. (A couple years makes a difference for a kid-while I still liked TFs in the late '80s, it was the pre-movie characters that left the biggest impression on me. I think I was starting to outgrow the toys by Dreadwing's time, and only really read the US and UK comics while not being as into everything else about TF by then (Although the headmasters backups were cool!)
