Beginnings...

Every comic book artist experiences the moment when they decide that drawing cartoons for newpapers or comics is for them. Myself, it was at the tender age of six that it came to me. Back in 1954, I was born and grew up for the first 11 years of my young life in Bradford's red light district, Lumb Lane. The only son of a Ukrainian immigrant, I would spend much of my time sitting at the window (top left of picture) of my grandmother's old house, armed with pencils, paper, and not forgetting my valued comics ranging from The Dandy and Beano, to most of the first Marvel titles to reach England. Every artist has their beginnings, and this is a pic of mine.
