Beano Library Books

These show just a couple of the Beano Library Books I enjoyed producing back in the 90s. I'd already had the pleasure of working on Bash St Kids in the comic, plus summer specials, but I guess that the library books allowed me to work on quite a variety of Beano and Dandy characters. Happy days!

Various Covers Produced

In the light of Dennis the Menace (The Beano) reaching the grand age of 60, just a few of the many covers I've worked on came to mind, including some of The Beano and Dandy Library Books.

Pseudo Tick 13

One of the great things about getting to work on various licensed characters is that from time to time, you get the chance to become involved with those that you really view as extra special.

When I was asked to produce the pencils on The Tick, I was really thrilled as I'm a true fan of The Big Blue Destiny himself. I had the pleasure of working on 11 books for New England Comics, the first one was Pseudo Tick 13.

Cartoon of artist Bryan Connor

Having had the pleasure of knowing artist, Bryan Connor since 1974, it was certainly time to produce a cartoon of the great man himself.

As I've still got all my windows, I'm guessing that he liked it. Phew!

Shaun the Sheep A Maze Ing page 1

This was one of the 4 page strips I enjoyed producing for Titan's, Shaun the Sheep comic. Artwork includes pencils and inks.

I was having to meet a deadline that so happened matched up to us going away on vacation. So, armed with a cup of lemon tea and my usual apple turnovers, I threw myself into Shaun's world. All I recall was working until 7.00am, this followed by a quick shower in time to be ready for the cab which was arriving at 8.00am to take us to the airport.

Nope, I honestly don't feel 30 years old any more!...or 40...or 50...

Mike Kazybrid's Comic Cuts...

Just for the pleasure of showing another Comic Cuts strip from its Comics International days.

Yet another Comic Cuts strip...

Mic Buff in Mike Kazybrid's Comic Cuts. As seen in Dez Skinn's Comics International. A very much missed publication.

Comic Cuts cartoon strip

The Comic Cuts cartoon strip ran for a period of nine years, appearing in Dez Skinn's Comics International.

Looking each strip at the life of comic dealer, Mic Buff, it equally included a variety of regular characters such as Mic's helpful PA, Pete, who was based on real-life comic book dealer, Pete Smith of Nottingham UK.
